Longmeadow Rescue Ranch Barn Buddy
Dominic's Story Dominic came to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch from Tennessee where he was rescued with hundreds of dogs and other animals that were not being properly cared for.
Dominic's Personality In Tennessee, Dominic lived with two mini stallions who picked on him so he kept mostly to himself. Although he was well behaved when he came to Longmeadow, he was very afraid of people, maybe because he was handled too roughly in the past. He is halter trained and easy to catch and, as he gets used to the daily activities at the ranch, is becoming much friendlier with staff and visitors. Dominic likes to run and play outside. He bucks and spins in little circles when he is excited to come back into the barn.
Dominic's Health When he came to Longmeadow, Dominic was underweight and had parasites. He was dewormed and put on a regular deworming schedule every 60 days. To help him gain weight and body muscle, he will get extra grain with his regular diet of a grass-mixed hay. Because his teeth had been neglected, a veterinarian had to file down some sharp points and edges to give him a more comfortable grinding surface.
